Who Are We
The Jewellery Council of South Africa
The Jewellery Council of South Africa was created as a jewellery industry representative body in 1973 and has developed from a voluntary organisation to a non-profit company. We have duly constituted Memorandum of Incorporation and we presently employ 6 employees. Our offices are situated at The Hamlet, 27 Ridge Road, Parktown, Johannesburg.
The Council is made up of 4 divisions, each representing a different facet of the industry, namely:
- Jewellery Manufacturers
- Jewellery Wholesalers/ Watch Importers
- Jewellery Retailers
The Council also represents other bodies that do not fall within the above divisions, such as Mintek and mining houses, De Beers, Anglo American Platinum.
The premier showcase event of the South African diamond, jewellery and watch industry is the annual Jewellex Africa Jewellery Trade Fair, organised by the Jewellery Council of South Africa.
The Jewellex Africa Trade Fair, a three-day event, that takes place at the prestigious Sandton Convention Centre, located in Sandton, the heart of Gauteng’s business sector.
