Complete the Application
Fill in the online application form and upload supporting documents (ID, company details, trade references, licences/permits).
Pay the Application Fee
R1 150 (non-refundable) for processing
Review Process
Your application and references will be reviewed by the relevant division. An inspection or meeting may be requested.
Approval & Welcome
Once approved by the Executive Committee, you'll receive your official certificate, welcome pack, and access to member benefits.

Turnover focus
At least 60% of your business turnover from manufacturing, wholesale, or retail (depending on division).

References
Two trade references + two Council member recommendations.

Legal Compliance
Valid permits/licences (e.g., Jeweller's Permit, CIPC docs, Second-hand Dealer's Licence if applicable).

Standards
Reasonable quality of products, store presentation (for retail), and/or qualifications in jewellery manufacturing.

What does it cost to be a member?
Membership fees vary by category and business size. Full details are provided once your application is approved.
Do I need to renew every year?
Yes, membership automatically renews annually unless you resign in writing.
Can my application be declined?
Yes - applications are reviewed carefully to protect the integrity of membership. If declined, appeals may be made according to the JCSA's Memorandum of Incorporation.
Can I resign at any time?
Yes, provided all membership fees are up to date.
